Bringing Back Boring James
It is time to bring back boring James. BJ. Boring James. It has been a hectic 6 or so weeks. I have been in the fullest party mode since my Mango days, I think it is fair to say. I will try to remember it all. A weekend away in Lisbon, a half-weekend in Hull, I DJ’d twice and both were pretty heavy nights. I’ve actually been clubbing 4 times in the time period – fabric’s birthday, Art Of Dark, The Hydra and then, well, it wasn’t clubbing actually, the Jeff Mills and BBC Symphony Orchestra event last Saturday. A …
Sorry But I Think I Have Changed.
I think I have changed. Don’t worry I have not had a sex change, or done something disgustingly immoral like get a gym membership, or hell something extreme like giving up gravy. Though tonight will be my first pint of gravy for a couple of weeks. And last time I didn’t like it, though I was ill at the time. I called my boss to tell him I was too ill to go to work – he asked about my symptoms and I said “I didn’t like the taste of gravy” and that was enough I was planning to go …
Budget 2014
Some of my friends think that politics is boring. Well, this budget was indeed boring. But that is a good thing. For boring, read stable. Resilient and steady. Personally, myself and all working people will benefit from the increase in the personal allowance to £10,500.00 (ie the amount you are not taxed on – so if you earn £25,000.00 a year, you will only be taxed on £14,500.00 of that). Small change but better than tax increases under Labour. A penny will be knocked off the price of a pint. Labour would have put your beer tax up, like they …
Project Boring James
Today is the birth of Boring James. Mundane, monotonous, tedious and tiresome. This will be my most challenging project for many a year. This most crazy yet supremely dull endeavour will involve lots of staying in, and very little going out. Old forms of fun such as drinking, partying and nightclubs will be sent to the gutter. Yes from now on, fun will consist of making bread, buying new pillows and re-organising music folders. Staying in is my new going out. Except for the fact over the next few weeks I have a family wedding, a daytime London clubbing sesh, …
A Weekend More Boring Than Work! Hurry The **** Up Pay-day!
That has to go down as one of the more boring weekends that I have had this year, and I am increasingly having boring weekends…well 1 in 4 are anyway which is way too much for my liking. No money and no friends around to keep me entertained culminates in inevitable boredom. I actually had more fun at work last week. It isn’t quite time for a drastic change yet, it is after all the age of austerity so I just have to get used to being increasingly bored. All is not lost as the next two weekends promise much more fun, with a …
